Deloitte honors Irish fintechs in innovation awards

Deloitte has shortlisted several Ireland-based fintech companies at its upcoming Financial Services Innovation Awards.
The professional services firm named small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) lender Capitalflow as a finalist in its ‘banking innovation’ category, alongside KBC Bank Ireland and unicorn fintech Revolut.
Capitalflow was one of the alternative lenders authorized to offer the Covid-19 Credit Guarantee Program (CCGS) – the Covid-19 loan program backed by the Irish government.
Meanwhile, Revolut has been recognized for winning over 1.3 million users in Ireland, with over 1000 still signing up for the app every day.

In the category of “ most disruptive financial technologies ”, AI company AYLIEN, digital integration specialists Know Your Customer and API pioneer Quant were all named finalists.
Other categories include âinnovation in insuranceâ, âsocial and sustainable enterpriseâ and âinnovation in investment managementâ. The jury will also select an overall winner and choose a recipient of the “ leadership award ”
The winners will be announced on Thursday June 3.

The jury will include David Dalton, Partner and Head of Financial Services at Deloitte, Managing Director of BPFI Brian Hayes, President of FSI Furio Pietribiasi, Head of ICT and International Services at Enterprise Ireland Carol Gibbons, Ciarán Hancock, Managing Editor in Head of The Irish Times, and Gulru Atak, Head of Innovation, Citi.
âThe challenges of 2020 have highlighted the essential role of innovation in all sectors,â said Dalton.
âIn a time of unprecedented upheaval, forward-thinking financial services companies are innovating to create new profit models, drive efficiencies, deliver new products and services, or improve customer experience and engagement. . “
