PayU Expands Payments Leadership Team in India
Mohit Gopal is now COO while Sudhir Sehgal has been appointed Chief Business Officer.
PayU today announced the appointment of three senior executives – Narendra Babu as Chief Technology Officer for the India Payments business; Mohit Bedi, as Senior Vice President (SVP), to lead strategic initiatives and the Bill Payments business, and Vineet Sethi, as SVP to lead PayU’s diversified financial services portfolio. PayU’s current senior executive, Mohit Gopal, will take on a new role as chief operating officer, while Sudhir Sehgal has been elevated to chief commercial officer. This strengthened India Payments business leadership team will lead the growth of PayU to realize its vision of developing a comprehensive digital financial services platform to meet the tapped and untapped financial needs of merchants, banks and consumers through the technology.

Narendra Babu, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), joins PayU with over two decades of experience driving digital transformation strategies and building next-generation software products. Previously, he worked for Walmart Labs Technology, India, where he led supply chain operations, building and leading large teams in India and the United States. Prior to joining Walmart Labs, Narendra spent a decade at Google and Microsoft in multiple technology leadership roles.
Mohit Bedi, Senior Vice President – Strategic Business Initiatives and BBPS, joins PayU after holding numerous leadership positions for financial institutions including Axis Bank, Standard Chartered, Barclays and Citibank. He has two decades of experience developing and executing strategies that have helped increase payment volume and secure long-term revenue with key business partnerships. Most recently at Axis Bank, he led the Merchant Acquiring business for India.
Vineet Sethi, Senior Vice President – Diversified Financial Services, joins the ranks of PayU with over two decades of experience in the BFSI industry and a successful track record in building and scaling lines of business. His last stint was with neo-banking fintech company, Niyo, where he worked as chief marketing officer (CMO) and was instrumental in building and scaling their flagship offerings. – Niyo Global and NiyoX.
Mohit Gopal, Chief Operating Officer (COO) has been a key contributor to the growth of PayU in India and has worked extensively in many diverse roles across business, strategy and operations over the past five years . Sudhir Sehgal, Chief Commercial Officer (CBO), helped grow the company’s enterprise payments business and successfully led PayU’s domestic and international payments strategy, development and distribution for its merchant portfolio of business.
